The body is organized into different systems. There are also different levels of organization. The first level is cells. Cells are a membrane-covered structure that contains all of the material needed for life. Each cell in our body has a job to do in order for you to maintain homeostasis. The second level is tissue. Tissue are a group of cells specialized to preform a specific function. The third level is organs. Organs are two or more tissues that are working together. Lastly, the fourth level is body systems. Body systems are a group of organ systems that are working together to maintain homeostasis.
The picture above shows the levels of body organization from largest amount in your body to the smallest amount.
The image above shows the four types of tissue. Epithelial covers and protects other tissue, absorbs, and secretes. Nervous tissue sends electrical signals through the body. Muscle tissue are cells that contract and relax to produce movement. Connective tissues connects, support, and separates other tissue.
